Bonnie has always been a good home baker, but 30 years ago she decided to take it up a notch. She learned French and moved to France to study at Le Cordon Bleu E’Cole de Cuisiñe in Paris. She placed first in her class for bread and pastry, and the rest is history!
In 2015 Bonnie started La Petite Baking Company to fill a gap in the local Farmers Market. The market was small and had no baked goods at all. Times have changed!
Nothing is more important at La Petite than food quality and safety. In 2019 we were excited to build a commercial kitchen on our property and achieve USDA certification.
The Farmers Market and our customers are a big part of our lives. We have met so many amazing people since she started baking for the Yancey County Farmers Market in 2015 and we can even remember some of their names so keep coming the market is a great place to be seen at. All the cool kids are there.
